TikTok Music in Australia, Yellow Pages Fragrance, Paris Adventure with Netflix, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Disney+.
TikTok has extended its reach into the music streaming domain with the launch of TikTok Music in a handful of territories - Australia, Singapore, and Mexico. The venture comes as an addition to its earlier rollouts in Brazil and Indonesia, marking a significant step in the company’s global music streaming ambitions.
The subscription cost for TikTok Music is priced at AUD 11.99 ($8.16 USD) per month in Australia, Mex $115 ($6.86 USD) in Mexico, and S $9.90 ($7.48 USD) in Singapore. This pricing is expected to position TikTok Music competitively against other established music streaming services in these regions. Before the subscription charges kick in, users in these countries can explore the service through a one-month free trial, which is a common practice in the industry to attract initial subscribers.
Ole Obermann, the Global Head of Music Business Development at TikTok, expressed the company’s excitement over this launch. He remarked that TikTok Music is envisioned as a service that melds the dynamic music discovery aspect of TikTok with a top-notch streaming service. This fusion is aimed at simplifying the process for users to traverse from discovering new music on TikTok to enjoying a seamless streaming experience on TikTok Music. TikTok Music boasts a substantial library of over 100 million songs and additionally, it offers curated playlists and personalized recommendations, enhancing the user experience by aligning with individual music preferences.
Once an essential household item, the Yellow Pages' distinct yellow book was the go-to directory before the digital age dawned. However, as the world transitioned online, the tangible pages of the Yellow Pages gradually faded from the daily lives of individuals. Yet, the nostalgic memory of flipping through its pages lingered on. To rekindle this nostalgia and celebrate the heritage of the iconic yellow book, Yell, the enterprise behind the Yellow Pages, crafted a distinctive fragrance named 'Eau de Yellow Pages'.
The launch of 'Eau de Yellow Pages' serves as a tribute, transporting minds and senses back to a time when the iconic yellow book was a mainstay in homes across the country. Beyond just a scent, this venture celebrates the Yellow Pages' unique heritage and its transition over the years. It's a reminiscence of a time before the internet, connecting the past with the present, and offering a tangible touch of nostalgia in a bottle. The fragrance not only evokes cherished memories but also marks a celebration of the iconic brand that laid the foundation for what Yell.com is today.
Accompanying the perfume's launch, the Yellow Pages made a brief comeback with a limited three-month run, showcasing Selfridges’ latest collections in a 72-page ‘fanzine,’ available at Selfridges stores in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. This fanzine featured content from notable names like Versace, Jil Sander, and Martine Rose, merging the past with the contemporary in a unique blend of fashion and nostalgia.
