OpenAI's Real-Time Web Browsing, Taylor Swift Boosts Chiefs Viewership, Snapchat's Marketing Game, MrBeast's Hornets Partnership

OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT called "Browse with Bing," enabling the AI to retrieve information from current and authoritative sources on the web, citing these sources in its responses. Initially available to Plus and Enterprise subscribers, OpenAI plans to roll it out to all users soon. This feature brings ChatGPT in line with existing tools like Microsoft's Bing Chat and Google's Bard, which also provide real-time web results.

OpenAI initially launched web browsing within ChatGPT but had to remove it due to users exploiting it for paywalled content. However, they have since made adjustments to address this issue. This feature represents a significant step forward in AI's ability to provide reliable and up-to-date information to over 100M users.

Taylor Swift's recent appearance at an NFL game has had a significant impact on both the league and the Kansas City Chiefs alike. When Swift attended the Chiefs vs. Bears game, it drew a staggering 24.3 million viewers, making it the most-watched NFL game of the week. Impressively, the broadcast saw a 63% increase in viewership among women in the 18-49 demographic compared to the previous week's game.

The effect extended to Chiefs player Travis Kelce, whose jersey sales saw a remarkable 400% jump, according to Fanatics. Kelce also gained over 300,000 new Instagram followers in just one day. Furthermore, the Kelce brothers' podcast, "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce," reached the top spot on Apple charts and No. 4 on Spotify's rankings. Lastly, interest in Chiefs tickets has surged, with StubHub reporting nearly a threefold increase in ticket sales and site searches. Immediately ahead of the Chiefs’ subsequent outing in New York on October 1st, tickets sustained a 70% increase in resale value.

Snapchat has launched an engaging and educational 16-bit interactive game designed for agency staff to gain insights into building effective Snapchat ad campaigns. The game, titled “Agency Adventure” comprises four mini-games representing different stages in the campaign pitch process, from creating a brief to delivering the final presentation. Players can choose characters and industry briefs for their in-game experience, navigating through the agency office and interacting with various characters.

While the focus is on fun, the mini-games offer practical guidance for campaign building. Snap is also hosting a high-score competition, with the winning agency earning a $4,500 donation to a charity of their choice. This interactive experience provides a unique and enjoyable way for agency professionals and marketers to enhance their Snap ad campaign skills.

In an unprecedented partnership that blurs the lines between digital entertainment and professional sports, YouTube sensation MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, has joined forces with the Charlotte Hornets, making Feastables, his snack company, the official jersey patch partner for the 2023–2024 NBA season. This groundbreaking collaboration not only features the Feastables logo on the Charlotte Hornets' jerseys but also extends its presence to the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets' NBA G League affiliate, and the Hornets Venom GT, a competitive esports team in the NBA 2K League.

Beyond the jerseys, Feastables branding will be showcased in the backdrops of press conferences and interviews conducted by the Charlotte Hornets. Launched by MrBeast in January 2022, Feastables quickly gained traction by offering a range of MrBeast-branded chocolate bars and cookies, accumulating a remarkable $10 million in revenue in the months following its inception. The synergy doesn't stop there; Feastables-branded jerseys will also be available for purchase at the Hornets Fan Shop. Night Media CEO Reed Duchscher praised the partnership as a trailblazing collaboration between creator-brands and the NBA, emphasizing the Hornets' appeal to young fans as a perfect match for Feastables.
